Refund policy

REFUND, RETURNS & CANCELLATION POLICY

This policy applies to our quarter, half, and whole beef shares. It covers money: what gets refunded, what does not, and when. How ordering, pricing, and payment work is in our Terms of Service. How pickup works is in our Shipping & Pickup Policy.

If we add other products, they will be covered by their own terms.

1. Cancelling before the Batch Submission on 15th of the Month

You can cancel any time before the 15th of the month you are placing your order, for any reason, and we refund your deposit in full to the card you paid with. No fee, no questions.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method and typically appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

2. After the Batch Submission on the 15th of the Month

Once the 15th passes, your batch is set. Your share is committed, matched with other buyers to make up a whole animal, and scheduled for processing. From that point the order cannot be cancelled or changed, and the deposit is not refundable.

We hold this line because a late cancellation does not just affect us. We fill each batch with several animals, and for quarter and half shares we pair you with other families to make up a whole carcass. One person backing out after the cutoff can leave another family, and a whole animal, stranded.

3. If we cannot fill your order

If we are unable to source, process, or deliver your share for any reason on our end, we will move your deposit to the next available batch or, if you would rather not wait, refund 100% of everything you have paid.

This covers the things that go wrong on a farm and at a plant: an animal is lost, the processor is delayed, a batch does not reach our minimum of four shares. It also covers any order we cancel ourselves, including for a pricing error. Either way, you are made whole.

4. If your balance goes unpaid

Your balance is due within 3 business days of the invoice, and no later than 48 hours before your scheduled pickup. Your share is not released until it is paid, and we do not release partial orders.

If your balance is still unpaid 14 days after the invoice date, and we have not worked out something else with you in writing, your order is forfeited. We keep the deposit and may sell your share to another buyer. Storage costs incurred while we hold an unpaid share may be charged to you.

If you are having trouble with the balance, tell us before day 14. We would rather find a way through it than lose you as a customer.

5. Missing or incorrectly cut items

Your share comes from a single animal that has already been processed, so we cannot re-cut or replace an individual item. Check your share against the packing slip in your boxes when you get home. If something is missing or was cut incorrectly, contact us within 72 hours of pickup at orders@texasgrassfedfarms.com or 469-809-8098.

We will review it against your cut sheet, your packing slip, and the box count you signed for at pickup. Where warranted, we will issue a credit toward a future order or refund the value of that item, at our discretion.

We cannot replace the item itself. Every cut from an animal is already allocated to the people who bought that animal, so there is no spare beef to draw from; pulling a cut from another batch would mean taking it from another family. A credit or refund is the remedy.

Organ meats and certain other items are not guaranteed. They are not always available and are not part of your hanging weight, so their absence is not a shortage.

6. No returns, and no refunds after pickup

Beef shares cannot be returned. Once you have picked up your share, there are no full or partial refunds on quarter, half, or whole shares.

We hand you a frozen product in good condition. After that, keeping it cold, getting it to your freezer, storing it, thawing it, and cooking it are your responsibility, and we are not responsible for spoilage or results after pickup. Grass-finished beef is leaner and cooks faster than what most people are used to; if something does not turn out right, reach out within 72 hours and we will talk it through. We would rather help you cook it well than argue about it.

7. Shares that are never collected

We can hold your share for 14 days after your scheduled pickup Saturday. Our Shipping & Pickup Policy explains the options during that window, including sending someone in your place at no charge and arranging a later handoff for a $95 rescheduling and rehandling fee.

Before the 14 days run out, we will contact you at least twice, by email and by text, at the address and number you gave us.

If your share has not been collected by the end of the 14th day and we have not agreed to another arrangement with you in writing, the share is considered abandoned, title returns to Texas Grass Fed Farms, and we may donate it to a local hunger relief organization. Payments you have made are not refunded and are not credited. We keep records of the notices we send and of any donation.

We do not want to do this, and in practice it should almost never happen. It exists because refrigerated storage costs us money every month a share sits in it, and because beef we cannot keep cold is beef nobody gets to eat. If you are running out of time, tell us. We will work with you.
